ImDisk Toolkit, WinCDEmu, and Windows File Explorer are probably your best bets out of the 8 options considered. Windows 8 and Windows 10 both have built in tools. You can just right click an iso file and select mount, which will then create a virtual drive. TIL windows 10 has inbuilt ISO mount function and no need to download virtual drive software. Strange, i have an ISO file of my cd-rom game but when i right click on it there is no option to mount it. I use W10 the latest. If the disk you are extending is in a linux guest OS once you have extended the disk in vmware go to the guest OS as root and use fdisk.
